How to Set The Price of Your Own Artwork

Crowdfundly gives you the option to price your artwork on your own. Now the question may come how to price your own artwork.

Don’t charge so little that you don’t break even, but also don’t expect to command the same prices as established artists with credentials and gallery representation.  A good rule of thumb is to use a simple formula:

(Hourly wage x Hours spent) + Cost of materials

Example:

Suppose, you value your time at $20 per hour and you spent 20 hours on a painting. The cost of materials for painting is $50.

According to the formula-

(20 hr x $20) + $50

= $450

So, you could consider pricing your art at $450 to cover the cost while also ensuring you break even.

How to Describe Art That Convinces The Buyers

You need to describe your artwork in a way that will entice and encourage the customer to invest in your artwork.

  • Start by sharing the inspiration behind your creation in 2-3 lines, revealing the source of your motivation and any unique textures or aesthetics chosen.
  • Follow up with the essential details- specify the dimensions, materials used and the technique applied.
  • Assure buyers by outlining your shipping and delivery process.
  • Optimize your description with carefully chosen keywords, ensuring relevance without overloading.
  • Incorporate a keyword into your artwork’s title for improved search visibility.
  • Craft a concise, informative narrative within 100 words.

Write A Compelling Confirmation Message

Write a confirmation to send to your customers which should be compelling yet short. You have to write the confirmation message within 300 characters.

Make the message personalized and use the customer’s name for a compelling confirmation message. To make the message more personalized, take advantage of the available Crowdfundly shortcodes as in-

[name], [email], [product_name], [product_price], [discount_price].

How to Protect Your Artwork?

Here are some tips to protect your artwork from being copied or used illegally:

Add Your Name or Logo

Watermark each image with your name or logo. This not only discourages theft but also helps art directors find you if they discover your work online.

Keep Image Sizes Small

Keep image sizes small, under 500 KB, to deter theft and ensure faster website loading times.

Pattern Tricks

Make patterns harder to copy by not showing the full repeat or scaling down motifs. Consider rotating the pattern at less common angles for added.

I’m not going to give a detailed review. The translator works pretty well for the languages I use. But some things it resolutely does not want to learn to improve and I’m not sure why. But I can’t go into that. I just want to ask about the continual problem with “Can’t add to history. Try again later.”
